  1. Well, it depends...,

i am native German but i often hear that German is not that easy to learn since its grammar is sometimes quite irregular, sentence structure is often confusing and there are lots of different dialects in Germany. Of course you will be able to understand most of them but still there are some really strong dialects like bavarian or saxon.

German is very similar to English so it's maybe not too difficult for you.

Spanish is (at least for me) not that difficult. Grammar is quite regular and the language is beautiful.

So it depends on which language you like more. If you are ambitious enough, none of them would be a problem for you.

  2. German is easier but spanish is the second leading language next to english a lot more people speak spanish. SO I think it would be better to learn spanish>

  3. If you are looking for a useful language, Spanish will definitely be on your short list. You can speak Spanish in more than 25 countries and with 330 million people who often speak nothing but Spanish. The language is spoken in a very similar way all over the world, and each hour of study you put in will bring you closer to all 25 countries.

Spanish is objectively an easy language. It lacks the many difficulties of complex languages like Russian or Japanese. It has way less exceptions than French or English. Apart from the difficulties of word gender and conjugation, Spanish grammar is straightforward.

If you already speak another Romance language, 6 months of regular one-hour-a-day-sessions or 200 hours should see you fluent in Spanish. This is what it took me and I had absolutely no prior knowledge of the language. Adding advanced vocabulary and getting to speak with great fluency will get easier and easier as you progress. Once you have assimilated the few but important differences between Spanish and the other Romance language you speak, the rest is very similar.

If Spanish is your first foreign language and your mother tongue is not a Romance language, you should be reasonably fluent with 300 hours of study. In my opinion, an hour of serious study every day for a year is more than you need.

German grammar is much more difficult and will take a little longer to master, I'm not saying it can't be done, but just saying to learn Spanish first and then German is always an option.

  4. Spanish is easier than German,

Because we have many words in Spanish language that are near the English. I think you can learn Spanish easier and quicker.

  5. German would be easier

  6. Try to find your caps-lock key please

  7. Try Spanish...it's easier...there's only one way to speak it...

I was told that German has a lot of dialects depending on the region in Europe you are in.

    Hope it helps!

  8. I just spent several years becoming fluent in Spanish. It all depends on what you need to use them for. Here in the US, German would be totally useless; on the other hand, I have many opportunities to use Spanish with Hispanic immigrants in my volunteer work. Your situation may be reversed. If you have no good reason (like volunteer work), pick the one you think you will be able to get practice in. If you have nobody to practice with, you will forget it before you know it.

  9. easier is german because its quite like english (:

  10. Learn Spanish! Spanish is the second most popular language in the world, and if you speak english and spanish you will find tons of jobs too.

  11. German is more similar to English than Spanish is.

  12. Spanish and German are both really easy to learn. German is set up basically the same way as English. Spanish is very cognitive to English, but you have to be careful of gender and congregation. I say German!
