  1. "Die Wetterau" near Frankfurt is one of the main areas where apples are grown, Hanau is one of the bigger towns there.

Apples are also commercially grown in Thuringia, in the Black Forest near Baden-Baden, and in the Northeast, in the Uckermark near the Polish border. Another area is around Constanz in the Southwest.

A statistics of 2004, in the journal "Handelsblatt" gives the production of apples in Germany 9th place worldwide with 1.6 million metric tonnes.

  2. There are just German pages but there are many apples on the Bodensee (Lake Constance) and

Meckenheim (Rheinland), Wetterau (Hessen), Werder (Havel), Altes Land, Borthen bei Dresden, Muldental und Kohrener Land in Sachsen, Pfalz

  3. on tees like in most places?

  4. Apples grow all over the country - also in my garden.

Places around Lake Constance (Bodensee) is popular for apples too.

  5. Just let me mention that everybody in Germany who owns a piece of ground, first thing to do was to plant an apple tree. This tradition has faded away; but on the very small piece of ground where my family's house stands, there are also two apple trees. We're in Bavaria, about 600 meters above sea level, and the area is not actually fit for growing apples on a large scale, but I've seen apple trees here that really were huge. Building development took most of them away, sadly.

  6. lake constance (bodensee)

  7. Apples are not so difficult to grow and as a result you can find apple trees  all over germany unless its above the so called  "Treeline". One region well known is the Bodensee area

  8. Apples are from all over Germany but I think most come from Bavaria , Rheinland-Pfalz, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern & Hessen.

I live in Hessen and we have very nice apples.
