GEtting american cheque - cheapest way to convert?

so im getting an american cheque in dollars

and i need to change it into pounds somehow, whats the cheapest way

the cheapest and best way to convert it is to deposit it into your bank account.  Any place else and they will charge you a. to cash it, and b. to convert it.  Plus, if it's not a major corporation that everyone has heard about, I doubt they would even touch it.

first why couldn't your sender send you a check in pounds in the first place (some banks will help with that)

I'm not sure of where you are either But I assume Europe

and how those check cashing places work overseas

but if they are like their ones in the US they would

charged a small percentage to cash the check and then to convert

from US dollars to Pounds

and likely you can go to most major banks and some of the banks

will help non-customers cash those type of cheques
