GF Pregnant of about 2 1/2 weeks, now she either has her period or just irregular bleeding.. help?

Hi,

My girlfriend is pregnant of about 2 1/2 - 3 weeks. We knew that she was pregnant, and shes missed her period and yesterday was about the 5th day without her getting it, until today when she woke up with slight pains and bleeding, she said it seemed like she had her period but it wasn't the usual color, the bleeding was more of a lighter red or tannish color. We were worried at first that she was pregnant to begin with, but we absolutely did not want her to lose the baby in any way. Can this mean shes had a miscarriage? Can someone be pregnant, and end up getting bleeding or their period but still be pregnant.. has it happened before? Please help, all help is greatly appreciated! Thank you so much!

implantation bleeding and yes it's normal

I think that she experienced implantation bleeding, look it up online, that will explain the cramping that's she's been having and will continue to have for a few days
