GF broke her laptop screen and dident back up the data?

my GF put a crack in the screen of her laptop and now we cant see anything there is no point in replacing ther screen cuz she ordered a new one like a month ago and she will have it soon but my prob is she needs some of the files off the comp and no she did not back anything up im ok with computers so plz dont go all teck geek on me and use tems i dont no wat they r ty

You should be able to open it up, and pull out the hard drive, then possible, not for sure, you might be able to plug it into to new one by opening it up, then she can write what she needs to a disk, put back in the ne HD, and transfer the stuff on the disk(s) to her new computer.

If you have a separate monitor (like a Desktop Computer Screen) you could try to plug that into the laptop. That way you can see, and use the Computer Screen as your Laptop screen. Which means you can see and save files.
