Question:

GHD Straighteners - PROBLEMS!?

I have the 2007 thin plate GHD straighteners and they DO NOT KEEP MY HAIR STRAIGHT! I straighten my hair usually at 8.00am and go back to it at half past just to go over my hair, then when I walk to School, it's really frizzy and for the whole day it is awful. I can't believe I actually paid £100 for these as they don't work on my hair. My hair is very thick, but when my cousins straighten it for me they do a perfect job and my hair stays straighter then when I do it! I do nothing wrong, I blow dry, straighten small sections at a time and it still doesn't work. Am I better off buying the thick affro carribean plates? Do they keep thick hair straighter or are the exactly the same only the plates are bigger?

  1. the thick plates would be better for you

i would get some heat defence product aswell

    they help hair stay straight

also get some serum to help calm the fizz after you have straightned your hair

  2. Its not the hairstaightener, i have the same one and it works wonders. i doubt its faulty but theres a chance, when you walk to school there will be mouister in the air that will make your hair cold and damp this is what will make your hair go frizzy it happens to me. Dont buy a new hair straighener. Buy the GHD styler put it in before or after you style your hair and this will help it stay straight for as long as you wont it too.

  3. Your like me. It's only now that i've left school my hair goes right! I'm not even lying. Your GHD's are fine, its the moisture and humidity in the air. I invested in different serums. Some really work. :) You could try getting your hair thinned out too.

Or take your GHD's to school and touch up there. :)

  4. try maybe using straighteners that allow you to set the heat, then use them on quiet a low-ish heat setting, like 140-50 maybe and go over your hair a few times with the straighteners, if that doesn't work then i'm not sure lol.

i have the same problem but only when i go to school, but that may be because the air in the morning is damp D:!

  5. The kiyoseki is the best straightner in the world trust me on this one.It can straighten and it can curl your hair if you want. And also when it hot outside your hair stays straight it will not frizz outside. This iron is also healthy for your hair.My hair is poofy frizzy SUPER curly and it works so good on my hair. I really cant live without it. To so see the commercial and reviews go to www.kstyler.com and if you have any questions you can always email me hope this helped.=)

  6. your hair always stays better when someone else does it, because they can get nearer the roots when they do it and thats the secret, you said yourself they work when someone else does it

GHDs rock, i wouldnt buy anything else

  7. Use hair serums and spray. It's probably the moisture and humidity in the air that's messing up your hair everytime you go outside. You could even try using mousse to weigh it down, so it won't get fly aways or poof up. I would buy some John Frieda products, they're amazing.

  8. I used to have a similar problem.

When you have finished straightening your hair, try using a serum like the one below all over your hair (but not too much, because it will make your hair look greasy and lank).

This should remedy your frizz and make your hair smooth and shiny.

    Goodluck!
