GI Benefits for Military Spouse??

I heard that they were trying to pass a bill that would llow spouses to utilize Military Benefits for college. Does anyone know if this bill passed and where to find out more?

  1. the bill has been passed.  the stipulations are very strict however.. the SM must have been in for ten years, they forfeit some other re enlistment  benefits and there are other restrictions.  


  2. they changed the rules on us with the new bill.

    Before, for the spouse to get the transfer, the soldier had to have it in his re-enlistment contract.

    With the new bill; they haven't released the details yet about the spouse and children transfer. They are still working on it. They will release the details soon.

  3. The new GI Bill did pass. The link below will tell you everything.

  4. The new GI Bill has been passed but in order for spouses or dependent children to receive benefits the member must be in the service on 1 Aug 2009. So I guess that part isn't going to be available until at least then.
