Ok. I am trying to render this pic without a background so the object will appear without a white backdrop. Is there any way of doing this w/o erasing around all of its edges which is annowing and takes forever. Help?

  1. what you want to do is when u put the image specifications like the size and that stuff, at the bottom there should be a background option.  Click that and pick transparent.  Make sure you also save it as a file that supports alpha (transparent) backgrounds like psd, or png

  2. First open up Gimp go to file and click on it and select the picture that

you want to work on. And then go back to file click on it and open a new file

and make it the same size of your picture that you are working on And make it transparent then go back to

the picture that you are working on and use the  Path`s tool to cut out

the part of the picture that you want to keep when you use the path`s tool

you will get around the part of the picture that you are working on so go to

select and click on it a drop down box will come up there will be a red box that will say

from patch next to it click on it and then go to Edit and click on it and in the

drop down box click on cut. Then go back to the new file click on Edit and

in the drop down box click on paste. Then go to the layer`s box and click

on the arrow across from where it say`s layer`s and go to layer`s menu and

click on Anchor layer`s.Then file and save the new picture has a GIF because

Jpeg can not Handel transparency`s.You will still see a white background

but the picture will have a transparent background if you paste it on

another picture. You do not need to keep the original picture so you can close it out.

I hope this can help you.
