I am planning a baby shower for my Brother's girlfriend and this is the first time I'm planning one. I know a couple from my 2 baby showers but I really don't know to use the same ones. I want to use different ones. I want 4 to 5 games. What are some good baby shower games? Please give me the name and explain how the game is.

One that I always liked was where you have a sheet of paper with the beginnings of common nursery rhymes and then blanks where the person has to fill in the rest of the rhyme. Such as Georgie Porgie Pudding Pie ____________________________________.

You give each person a sheet and who ever gets the most right wins.

I can't stand any game that requires the people attending the shower to taste baby food, change fake baby diapers, or anything like that. I definitely wouldn't go with the one wear you use string to guess how big around the mother is. My best friend's mother wanted that at my friends baby shower and it made my friend feel like a whale. Get 10 different kinds of candy bars and mash them up and put them in a clean baby diaper to make it look soiled.  Give each person a piece of paper and ask them to smell the diaper or taste it and identify the candy bars  Then label it with a #.  pass the diapers around while she is opening up presents.  sounds gross but it is really funny.  winner gets a jumbo candy bar.

another cute game.  Put together a list of questions "How well do you know the mommy to be?"   Like what is her favorite color, childhood nickname, favorite movie, etc and have all guests answer the questions. The fun part is you have to ask your brother before the party to answer the questions too and when the mommy-to-be reveals her answers, you can tell her and everyone what he said as well.  

Also you can tell the guest to bring in a baby photo of themselves and when they come in they tack it onto a bulliten board and everyone can guess, who was that baby?

When everyone comes to the party you give them a necklace(make necklaces out of yarn and plastic mini pacifiers in the craft section.)  Pick  common words that everyone is forbidden to say  like baby, eat, pregnant, cute.  Anytime somebody says that  word, they remove their necklace.  The last person with necklace on wins a prize.

Games played at my shower were

Everyone had a paper clip attached to their top and through out the shower if someone said the word "baby" the person who noticed could steal their paperclip person with the most at the end of the shower wins

Get all the guests to bring their own baby picture and the mum to be has to guess who they all are

Have 2 pairs of guests and 2 baby bottles filled with juice one guest sits on the others knee and has to be fed like a baby first to finish there bottle wins

Guess who like the normal game but with post-its with baby names and each guest gets to ask a question "am I male" "is my Mum a singer" if they get it wrong they have to wait till there next turn to ask another if they get a yes they can continue to ask questions until they get a no - famous babies we had were Stewie from family guy, emma (rachel from friends baby), cruz beckham, suri cruise

put different baby items in a basket, let your guests study it for about 10 seconds,

once the basket is put away out of sight, let your guests write down as many items they remember seeing in the basket.

In the shower invitations ask all guest to bring a story book.Sorry just love that idea.Guess Mom's Tummy Size: (Materials- String or yarn and scissors) Have each woman pull the yarn to the size they believe would fit perfectly around the Mother-To-Be's center of her pregnant tummy. After everyone cuts their string, compare the results to the Mommy-To-Be's actual tummy. or Pass around a jar full of baby safety pins. The one who guesses the closest wins a baby shower prize. A baby shower game favorite!or Take the labels off of the baby food jars and have the women at the baby shower guess the food (carrots, peas, sweet potato). Most fun to play up to 10 jars of different kinds of foods. If there is a tie, blindfold the women and have them taste one of the jars and guess the right flavor to win their prize

I would go with Moops478 on doing the finish the nursery rhyme.  But as a mommy, I absolutely loved having every body guess how big around I was, it was fun and interesting.  

Also, I know of a lot of people who will set up a few bowls of white rice with the smallest safety pins you can find scattered with in the rice.  Whose ever turn it is gets blind folded and has about 1 1/2 to 2 minutes to find as many pins as possible.  It is very fun, but harder than it sounds.

I was at a couples baby shower (where the men were invited, too), and they gave each guy a baby bottle filled with juice, and the first one to finish won...  Kind of silly, but it was really fun to watch!

At my sister's baby shower, they handed out white cloth diapers to each guest and had everyone write or draw a special message to the baby with fabric markers on the diaper.  My sister then used those for burp cloths.  They were really special to her.

I'm with moops478  - I'm not really one for baby food tasting or melted candy bars in diapers.  I think a classy game is to have everyone bring a baby photo of them self and put it in a bag at the front door.  Pass them around with a blank sheet of paper and have everyone try to guess who is who!   The one with the most correct wins!

Another thing to do - although this isn't a game it was really fun.  At my baby shower they had a bunch of blank bibs, fabric paint and everyone custom painted a bib.  I still use them.  They are great and I get a big chuckle when I use some of them.
