GLBT college students: What's your major? ?

And why did you pick it?

I'm clinical laboratory science, a.k.a. medical technology. I chose it because I've been around healthcare all my life, due to illnesses in my family. I just couldn't see myself becoming a doctor or a nurse though, because I'm not comfortable around people but I have a lot of compassion and a passion to help people. This way I can do it behind the scenes without dealing directly with patients. 70% of information used in treating patients comes from the laboratory.

well, i'm a jounior in highschool, but can i answer anyway?

i'm going to major in photography and minor in journalism or creative writing. or both. lol. but i'll probally have to take a year of community college to go out of state, cause my district just lost acreditattion so yeah, i'm safe for ga. schools, anywhere else, i'm screwed, and i'm only elgible for the HOPE scolarship, so i'd have to save up money for real college anyway. ugh.

My major is business, but i am might change it. I am going to take some classes in the fall, and i am hoping i enjoy it

Not a student any more (doing a virtual happy dance) but that was partially my rationale when I was in college (Biology) and grad school.

I now manage a microbiology lab - I love it. Good for you. Keep it up!

I picked it because I figured I can get a job teaching anywhere.
