  1. The llama after tommorow is a great movie and really shows what can happen if global warming takes place and we don't do anything about it. Life of Llama Organizations has a campaign "LLAMAS GO GREEN YOU SHOULD TOO!" we are kicking off a fundraiser with Miley Cyruss in Peru, where we are going to Walk the LLamas with all of our 506 members. You could be a member today, it's free and no personal information required. If you would like to donate 5-100 dollars for our SAVE THE LLAMAS 2008 [c] to become a member email dawlfacex3@yahoo.com. -Marty Jean Baker

  2. the global warming is most likely because of the human activities and in this era, it can't @ difficult to avoid due to the increasing population in diz world. the more peoples in this world, the more housing area that we need, thus many trees in this world will be cut down in order to provide and fulfil the humans demands. without the trees, the amount of oxygen will rise and it will effect the world's climate as it trapped the heat produced in this world and leads to global warming and can cause several other problems in a few country such as landslides and flash floods

  3. This is why I hate Hollywood.  The Day After Tomorrow was a movie.  There was nothing realistic about it.  Just a bunch of scare tactics rolled into one poorly written, crappy movie.  And whoever says an Inconvenient Truth is reliable, I suggest you take your blinders off.  That movie has been shown to be inaccurate, misleading, and downright deceitful.  Al Gore is full of shlt.  He's just playing off the fears people have of global warming and capitalizing off of it.  Look at his whole carbon credit scam.  He stands to make a ton of money if that actually works.  He's got financial stakes in it.

  4. "The Day After Tomorrow" is complete bunk. as you might expect from hollywood; its an action movie not a documentary!

  5. Gore's movie and Day after Tomorrow  are hollywood style examples of fact stretching and skewed data to suit a given agenda. So many swallow this propaganda(especially young impressionable minds) that it does leave you wondering "why is the world so naive"?

  6. Global warming is an issue which is still open to much debate.  Do not take Al Gore's movie as fact as it "conveniently" leaves out or downplays truths that don't fit his view that this is real and is caused by man.  There is still much that is debated regarding both those issues.

For an alternate view of the subject, you might read the paper at the site below which was written in July 2007.

  7. if you want facts, read or watch al gores "An inconvenient truth".

global warming is happening im sure, but i think society is trying to get more money from us. ex: dont buy that car, buy this more expensive hybrid car

    but who knows.

  8. watch an inconvenient truth. and if you have the history channel, they have a show on their called mega disasters, and one of them is about global warming. its pretty scary hearing what they have to say and the things that are likely to happen.

  9. I am a Quaternary Geology and global change student. I think that this film is not realistic. The climate of the earth can not change that fast even if I believe that the pattern of the earth climate is change. Don't be afraid humankind has adjusted to multiple climate changes during the quaternary period and if the climate changes nowadays we will be able to adjust to it.

  10. Byderule, your eloquence humbles me.  I would add that half of the world is without adequate drinking water, and more than half are without adequate food to eat.

Reading through the responses, it reminds me of something from Joanie Baez's book "Daybreak".  She said she was in Chicago when she saw a newspaper headline that said "Blond found dead in Hotel".  Below that, in small print it said "Earthquake in Iran; 6000 Dead".  She thought to herself "I wonder what color of hair they had?"

  11. You want insight on the issue, yet you ask why the world is so naive?

  12. Global Warming is a scam.

And that movie is Hollywood fantasy, complete fiction. It is Alarmist propaganda at its worst.

  13. If you want facts, run like the devil is chasing you from "An Inconvenient Truth" or "The Day After Tomorrow"

  14. I don't believe in global warming, I think it's just a way for the government to get more money for us through hybrids and all that energy saving jazz. Did you know 20 years ago they warned us of global COOLING?! The world and environment go through cycles, so I don't believe we're in any type of danger.

  15. If you want more insight and facts on this issue then I suggest watching 'The Inconvenient Truth' It is something worth watching if this topic interests you.

  16. Just like Y2K, global warming is a hoax being perpetrated by the media on an unsuspecting populous. Only a small segment of the earth’s overall data – about 130 years of the 4.2 billion year age of the earth – are being analyzed, in an effort to spin the information to match a gloom and doom prophecy. The earth’s atmospheric history is filled with large scale swings in temperature, which are self regulating throughout time.

  17. the day after tomorrow is most likley going to happen at some time but not in more than like 40 years im betting.

  19. Global warming is a fact. The world is getting warmer in recent years. What is not necessarily a fact is that humans are causing global warming. One hypothesis is that CO2 emissions are causing the increase in temperature. Another hypothesis is that the increase is due to natural cycles. Some science backs up both positions. There is also the possibility that it is neither of those hypotheses.

What you can be sure of is that "The Day After Tomorrow" is a gross exaggeration. The chances of that happening are next to zero, and if it does, it is just as likely to be from something other than global warming. Another thing you can be sure of is that the reason that so many people "believe" in global warming is that they are making tons of money on it. (i.e. Toyota selling hybrids, companies getting your and my tax dollars to install "green" technology, scientists getting tons of your and my tax money in the form of grants to "study" global warming... the list goes on and on)

Always be wary of something that is all good or all bad - there are two sides to every issue. If you have ever heard the saying "It's too good to be true" the same also goes for it's "It's too bad to be true." Something good comes out of everything, and if you aren't hearing the good it's because somebody is concealing it to further their agenda.

That last bit really applies to what this byderule character posted just above.

  23. Recently In Chiapas ,and Tabasco in Mexico .more then a million people became homeless overnight with water coming up to their roofs ,because of rains from super evaporation from the forests, this had never happened before. Millions of animals died.

In India 3000 people died because of super storms .

.A few years ago in Europe 3500 people, died during a heat wave ,many of them in France .

Right now the average death toll annually is 150.000 due to Global warming

. these figures are already out of date and are expected to double soon.

In Northern China millions of people are running for their lives because regular dust storms so far have buried 900 villages under the sand and the whole of northern China is turning into a dessert.

The Sahara is growing by 7 kilometers a year all around the edges ,like a slow burning fire shriveling up their neighbors In the Kalahari huge rivers have dried up and thousand of species are gone due to their habitats disappearing .

The biggest changes are invisible at micro biotic levels species are becoming extinct ,others are multiplying ,

This affects the insect populations that follow ,and changes in that ,affect all that follows in the food chains ,

in the last 300 years half of the planets forests have gone

and in the last 50 years

half of our wet lands ,rain forests and ice fields .and 3000 species of animals .

Global warming is but a component, in a group of destructive forces at work such as ;deforestation, desertification, soil and water contamination ,irresponsible or wasteful utilization of bio resources and air pollution.

which we are responsible for ,

We are now witnessing a mass Extinction of animals and plants of Biblical proportions, equal since the disappearance of the dinosaurs

    .

There is a series that you can download easy ,called

    bbc,Planet earth by David Attenborough.

    About 15 ---700mb videos

this is a photographic team that has been filming Nature stories all over the world ,for a very long time .

In 3 of the episodes called --the future--saving species(this one covers extinction and the importance of species)

the future--living together ,ice worlds ,

they compare films they made before of places and species to what they are filming now in the same places.

Many scientists give commentaries as well .

Whole migrations of animals involving millions have disappeared in only 20 years,

in one place in the tundras ,in just 5 years

If we want to save ourselves as a specie ,we have to address

    the problems

We can correct most of the destructive factors

with disciplines ,changes of attitude and habits, alternative energies ,sustainable design etc.

All species are in Danger eventually, and each is important because all of Life on this planet is interrelated even if it is not obvious

Imagine that the Eco system is a wall and each specie is represented by a brick

Every brick taken out weakens the wall ,and eventually it will collapse ,which brick is the most important ???

they are all important and we are one of the bricks
