GMC jimmy 6 disk changer not working?

Question

Just as the question asks, its not working. When I load the disks into the holder, and put the holder back into the changer, It wont play them. The changer detects the disks, so the little picture of a disk appears on the screen. But I cant get them to actually play, no matter which buttons I push.

Oh ya, by the way, its a 2000 GMC Jimmy, SLT edition.

It sounds as if the laser is burned out in the stereo, in which case it will need to be replaced. One thing you can try before putting a new stereo in it is to buy a CD cleaner and see if that helps, however I doubt it will cure the problem.
