Going from Sheffield to London Paddington on 19 Oct 2007. Trying to buy a train ticket. There are several types avaialble. GNER standard advance 1 or 2 or 3. Any difference?

Price mainly. All they are the smae as most of the rebranded Apex fares, is a limited amount of cheap pre book tickets.

Great if you can get them.

A pian when they are advertised and you find that there are only 1 or 2 of them per train.

All these are the same except for the price,

Standard advance 1 is the cheapest and will sell out first followed by 2 and 3 the most expensive.

Remember that you must get on the train stated on the time on the ticket.  If you get on any other they can charge you the difference from the standard fare.

Don&#039;t forget if your under 26 (or maybe 27) you can get a young persons railcard and get 1/3 off all tickets.  Costs about £20 quid and is valid for a year.

GNER does not run from Sheffield to Paddington. Midland Mainline serves Sheffield and trains run to St. Pancras.I suggest you recheck.

Why not buy a ticket on Midland Mainline from Sheffield to London St Pancras (cheapest ticket is £6 one way), and then get the tube from Kings Cross St Pancras to Paddington?
