Be careful when you buy.  Do not buy off the street.  You should be fine as long as you go to a jewelery store, or even Sams Club, there is a huge one in Toluca.

Go to a town 3 hours from Mexico city called Iguala, in the state of guerrero The town is full of the rich whou sell genuine gold. My mother in law sells it and it is very nice. Dont but in Mexico city its fake.

That depends...There is a lot of fake jewelery for sale in Mexico. You must know the markings and whom you are buying jewelry from there.

I live on the border and have seen a lot of jewelry that soon turns green when worn.

Good prices yes, but know your products! Buyer beware!
