GOLF Playing from green fee marker in stableford round?

Are you disqualified in a STABLEFORD round for playing from the wrong marker. I know if it is a stroke round it's a 2 shot penalty and you must correct your mistake before the next teeing ground. In a stableford round would you just lose that hole or are you disqualified for not correcting your mistake.

  1. I would have to believe that in Stableford, you simply would not be allowed any points on that hole, the same as if you made a double bogey or worse. I see no reason to DQ someone when some players pick up on several holes in a Stableford round, anyway.

  2. Stableford golf makes no difference upon penalties in golf because the system is a different way of counting strokes.

    The system is

    +2 or worse = -2

    +1 + -1

    par = 0

    birdie = +2

    eagle = +5

    albatross (double eagle) = +8

    You would simply follow USGA procedures for this as if it were stroke play, add your strokes, and then convert it to the system.
