  1. Hybrids are great. I have the Titleist 21 degrees and it replaces my 3 iron. I would definitly recommond them.

    Have a good one...

  2. Hybrids work, they are a golf club, they do the job, but it is a personal preference of which is better.

for myself, i use a hybrid instead of a 4 iron, but that is because i think it feels weird hitting an iron with such a long staff.

  3. hybrids really work... they go way farther than the 1-4 irons... its like a smaller wood or driver

  4. Hybrids do really work if swung correctly. Like others have said though, irons will slice through the tall grass better.

The hybrid was designed to replace the longer irons for amateur players. Any problem with ones swing will become more and more noticeable the longer the club. This can cause problems when hitting a long iron. The hybrid moves more weight to the end of the club and a larger face can provide a more forgiving club.

Again, this is a matter of preference. If you can hit your long irons well, there is no need to switch to hybrids!

  5. if you struggle with your long irons, then i would suggest you use a hybrid.    the hybrid gives you a bigger margin for error so you don't have to make solid contact every time. It also gives you a higher ball flight which translates into a softer landing. the only downside is that you can not work the ball.

  6. Hybrids are like a fairway wood that isn't as deep. I say get them if you struggle with your long irons. If you can hit a 4 iron though, it is much more versatile than a four hybrid. The hybrids are not good out of deep rough. The irons are. The hybrids are easier to get elevated though off of the tee. My recommendation is to take out your four iron, and hit five to eight balls. if you hit more than 80 percent consistently, keep your iron. If you don't a hybrid may be the right choice for you. it all depends upon consistency. Whatever you are more consistent with, is the right choice for you.

  7. yes hybrids r alot easier to hit then ur higher irons 2 3 4 iron

but there not so good out of the rough

if ur just startin get one and try it it will prolly help ur game

  8. Personal preference. I like irons though. Irons are much better for longer grass.

  9. if you have troble hitting your 3 irons or 4 irons then get a hybrid

it's more managable and easier to hit

  10. Yes hybrids work extremly well much better than irons. This is why with a iron the blade of the face meaning the bottom is more flat and has alot more trouble making pure contact with the ball. A hybrid club has a more oval shaped blade with cuts through grass like butter. Also a hrbrid has the technology of a wood so you will proboly notice you hit the ball further. I have a Nike sumo 3 and 4 hybrids. They are great in a situations i even use the around the greens for punch shots. If i have a distance that i would usually hit a 5 iron and the lie is not great i will use my 4 hybrid and the result is great.

    Yes they replace irons.

    ABSOULUTLY USE HYBRIDS!!!!!!!!

  11. I replaced my 5  wood and 3 iron with a hybrid and a 60 degree wedge this year.  It's been really great.  The hybrid has many uses.  I can hit it in long grass and it works wonders around the green.

  12. Yes, they do work.

If your question is are they easier to hit... "that depends" on the individual.  As for being more difficult to get out of the rough - that also depends on the actual club design.  I use the original hybrid (TM Rescue), and it is probably more difficult to hit out than the Bobby Jones hybrids.  The reason being that the TM has a rather flat sole (like an iron) whereas the Bobby Jones is more triangular and cuts through the grass.  I am not sure the design/performance trade off from the fairway might be between the two clubs.

I personally use my rescue a ton (also from the rough) and find it to be extremely easy and can hit the snot out of the ball.
