GOLF club?

Hi there.

I played golf when I was 6 yrs old BUT I stopped.

Now, I'm trying to get back on the field at the age of 19.

I'm considered a beginner because I've lost my touch.

(I can't even remember how to hold a club properly)

I'm gonna be officially enrolled at our school's golf session next week (16 sessions, 1 hour each).

The pros out there in the session provides us dunlop clubs.

I also want to practice at home so I want to have my own.

Now, what brand of club do you think I should buy?

(callaway, nike, dunlop, etc..)

Should I go for the metal or wood?

How much does a club cost today?

Where is a good place to buy one?

(branded and quite cheaper than the usual BUT NOT fake)

Umh, I really don't need a first class club since I'm not really that serious about golfing --just for fun.

Ahh, I just want a good club for normal players.

Thank you for reading.

  1. Are you keeping the dunlop club or just borrowing it? If yes, then use it for awhile until you get better. If you can buy a set in the Philippines buy it there or somewhere in Asia, co'z it will cost a lot (shipping) ordering here in US. Taylor Made, Cleveland and Nike is little cheaper than Callaway. I suggest get a used set since you just playing for fun. Go for the metal shaft and ask your instructor if he/she can measure/fitted you.

  2. Don't know what brand but you can buy them at Edwin Watts Golf Shop (in tyler, but I don't know where you live)

  3. Callaway X20's

  4. Good golf clubs don't really depend to much on the brand, but more the amount of money you are willing to spend. If you go to golfshack.com they have excellent prices on golf club sets ranging from 500 to 1,000, or anywhere from 200-500 for used sets. Since you are starting golf again I recommend getting a used pair to get you started. If you can get clubs with a graphite shaft that would be best. As for the length of the club you should go to a local golf shop and ask to have yourself fitted for the six of clubs.

  5. Since you will be taking an extended series of lessons, wouldn't it be prudent to discuss the brands of clubs with the instructor ? Because Dunlop clubs are used in the lessons doesn't necessarily mean these are the clubs the instructor would endorse.. You further state  that you are not serious about golfing. Then go to Wal-Mart, Sports Authority, the local golf store, find a club which feels good when you swing it. Do this with every club in the set. Now select your price range. That is what I would recommend.

  6. New Inferno PETITE Complete Lady Golf Club Set with Stand Bag

The club came in a timely manner, it arrived exactly when they said it would. I will be using the clubs for the time on 1 May, 2008...as I am a complete beginner I have nothing to compare it to, but they feel good when I swing them. So far I am pleased...

  7. I have RAM glof clubs the whole set including the bag is anywhere from 90.00 to 400.00 depending on where you get them. Mine were origionally 300.00 but I got them on sale for 90.00 at sports authority so just look around.
