Question:

GPS Satellite Coverage?

Does anyone know of a website that can determine how many GPS satellites will be overhead on a certain day and place. I need to know how good of coverage I will have when I am in the field. (I am disregarding any adverse weather conditions, I just need the number of satellites)

  1. There will always be 6 satellites in the line of site to your receiver. (if you are outside)  It changes minute by minute but always a min of 6.

  2. There is a program called Trimble Planning that will tell you which satellites will be over your location at any time.  It will also show you the times of day when you will have the best reception and least amount of error.
