GPS help please!!?

i have the garmin nuvi every time i put in a route it says do you want to simulate driving this route....what does that mean and below that it says yes or no and on the bottom of that it has a check box that says restart when finished...can someone please help me!

  1. When the Nuvi antenna is folded up, the device assumes you want to simulate the route and provides this prompt.  The route simulation feature shows each of the positions and turns as if you were driving in real time.  In this mode it does shows your simulated position instead of your actual position.  If you actually want to use the Nuvi to drive, you have to flip up the antenna in the back or use an external antenna.

    My parents accidentally simulated a route while driving and since their actual driving time was close to the simulated driving time it came close to being accurate (but appeared to be really inaccurate about their position at times because of the difference between their real position and the simulated position).


  2. Also go into the settings menu and make sure you don't have the simulator mode turned on.

  3. I just got a garmin today and used that feature. It allows you to view the route before you start driving.
