  1. I'm a big fisherman myself. I like to go catfishing the most. When i go its at about 11:30 or so. I had a problem in finding my hooks at night so i found a gps at bass pro shops for $100. it is called a i finder go2. Its red and its waterproof.i dont even use a spotlight anymore because it gets me so close. then i set it to find home and it gives me my trail back to the house.boating is all i use it for and its perfect.

  2. The link just a popular store. I have found cheaper browsing. Type; "Marine GPS" without the quotes.

    http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/sto...

  3. They have hand held gps units. One of them the arrow on the unit just points towards your destination.

  4. Just grab a hand-held GPS of eBay.com. I use a hand-held Garmin myself and it's great.  I can put up on the boat when I need it, then I can take it off and use it when I go tramping.

  5. Garmin, RayMarine, Northstar, Furuno. Go to a marine supply or marine electronics dealer.

  6. Go to the nearest sporting goods or boating store and ask them.  d**k's here has units that will take care of what you are asking for: http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/family...

Or you can try Cabela's: http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templa...

  7. i use a garmin. ive tried many, but garmin has always been the best i found for reliability and features.

i got mine from a boat show. thats the best place. as often they are set up on display and you can playw ith them, and usually get a good show deal.
