I have a Garmin GPSmap 76 and I was wondering how to upload the waypoints saved on the GPS to my PC. Is this possible without purchasing the additional MAPSource CD-ROM?

  1. Yep, you can definitely upload waypoints from your GPSmap 76 to your PC without buying any software.  You can try a couple of programs.  The easiest to try would be EasyGPS.  Another program to try is GPSBabel, which has both a command line and GUI version.

Once you use either program to pull the points of your GPS receiver, you can save them in GPX format.  That's the best format to use because many programs can read it, including Google Earth.
