  1. Global positioning system

  2. It is the Global Positioning System, a series of satellite that send a time sequence down to the GPS Receiver in the car.  The receiver uses the satellite information to calculate it's position.  Then gives you directions on were you want to go.  It has street maps loaded to make this easier.  If you have ever had a hard time finding some place when driving, they are a great help.

  3. GPS stands for Global Positioning System...the government  owns the satellites and kept them off limits until recently when they let private GPS makers make use of the satellites to build navigation systems.  Some of the more popular brands are Tomtom, Garmin, and Mio......I love Tomtom, especially the go 720, and one third edition systems....very sleek, stylish and precise maps and navigation....It simply takes your mind off of the stress of driving and lets you focus on the pleasures.....

  4. Global positioning system( GPS)
