GRANTS!? I'm currently in college and I need a laptop. My GPA is 3.92.?

My education is completely surrounded with the use of computers, from web design to computer programming, and the biggest problem I have is not being able to advance my skills after classes. If anyone knows of a grant that I could qualify for, it would be much appreciated. I need no more than a $1000.

Is there a library at your school?  Maybe you could go there and use their computers.  There are employees at your school who are trained to find grants; go talk to them.

Have you checked out rebuilt, refurbished, or auctioned laptops?  There are a ton of used Apples out there.  I just got a clamshell Mac running 10.3 with an Airport card for practically pocket change.

Then ask your University bookstore what they have in discounted software.   Software can wind up costing you as much or more as the laptop itself.
