Question

ok so heres the deal... my friend really thing she is going to win this. like she said that she will def win it. and she is like already planning everything! i dont know what to tell her. i told her that she shouldn't get her hopes up to high because then she will be depressed when she doesnt win. What should i do? could she even win?

There's always a chance - but then the laws of probability tell us that the chance is 1 in ......................... (however many people entered).  You can tell her that her chances aren't that great, but it would be cool if she won! Maybe she'd look at it as more of a pleasant surprise if she does win.  And if she refuses to give up hope - and she loses - well, she'll just learn it by experience - you did all you could to soften the blow.
