  2. i was 11 and i told my sister first. i was sleeping over at a friends house when i got it. i wasnt scared at all, i'm the type that doesnt care who knows that i'm on my period

  3. I was 11 and I didn't know what it was either. I seriously thought there was something wrong with me. I told my mom I was bleeding and she just handed me a pad.

  4. i cant help cause i havent started yet and im 11

    ........ sry

  5. I got it like 2 mins before leavign for school, my sister and mom were waiting at the door for me, and i was terrified i went down and asked to talk to my mom in the kitchen for a minute and she said no, tell me on the way to school, and then i blurted out im bleeding and started crying.

  6. I was 12 when I started mine and I wasnt scared at all. Mainly because I had an older sister who had already went through it so she helped me. And when I told my mom, she had already gone through it with my sister so it was easy to talk to her about it.

  7. 13, and i didn't tell my mom for almost two years.

  8. i was 10.

it was awful! i was on a roadtrip with my GRANDPA and i wouldn't be able to see my mom for like a whole other week. so i had to call and tell her.

  9. 11 and not really lol. My mom explained it all before I even started and then again after I started and I was like "yeah you've told me this once, too early in the morning, let me go back to sleep" lol.

  10. I was 15 and my mom was gone on a business trip and my dad treated me like an invalid after that, constantly asking if I was on my period when I seemed more emotional than normal and refused to buy me protection, even though he thought it was his business to know when I needed it. I had to get a friend's mom to buy me stuff and when my mom came home a month later, she never even said anything, never offered to buy me pads or give me advice on how to use any of the products. If I had been younger, if I had not already had the health class where we learned about periods, and if I did not have friends who were already having theirs, I would have grown up thinking there was something wrong with me. It's surprising to me how few girls know about their periods before they start them and how few of those who did heard about it from their moms. Especially since they seem to be starting so much younger now.

  11. I was 15, and i was scared to death.  I didn't want her to be all like "Awwe honey!  Oh lets go get you some pads and stuff!"  Turns out she just said, oh that sucks, and then gave me some pads and we were done with it.  It was horrible though, and it was a tad awkward, but oh well.  Honestly, i would rather talk about that stuff more with my friends then my family for some reason, and i don't know why.

  12. I was 10,

i cried a little but then I went on a walk with my mom and sister right after. I told my mom before that though and no I wasnt embarrassed.
