GSOS U13: Lauren Middleton and Sarah Sidebottom bagged Women’s Doubles title – Badminton news
Scotland’s Lauren Middleton and Sarah Sidebottom showed their hard-to-learn skills on court and remained successful in bagging Women’s Doubles title at the event of GSOS U13 in Scotland, on Sunday, September 2, 2012.
The incredible Lauren and Sarah were at their best in the final battle and they easily crushed their second seeded opponents Rachel Andrew and Maria Leith without dropping any game.
The top seeded Lauren and Sarah showed their remarkable skills on court as they played with tremendous precision and managed to give a severe treatment to their challengers in a dominating manner.
The in-form Lauren and Sarah were on a different level in the title match while playing against Rachel and Maria and they easily wrapped up victory in straight sets by consuming just 24 minutes
On the contrary, the lower ranked Rachel and Maria could not put up strong show in the first set but they gave a good fight in the following game. They did well but not enough to escape defeat from the hands of their higher ranked opponents and also remained
unable to win any game.
The higher ranked Lauren and Sarah played positive and controlled badminton from opening points and they remained confident.
The impressive Lauren and Sarah continued showing their aggressive play and easily set up a wonderful gap until the break.
After the mid-game interval, the top seeded Lauren and Sarah remained on track as they did not lose their focus at any stage and eventually won the opening game in a fabulous fashion by putting up a staggering 21-12 score on the board.
In the second set, Rachel and Maria played positive and aggressive game this time as they geared up their speed in all areas of the court and remained neck-to-neck to against their higher ranked challengers until the break.
After the mid-game interval, the in-form Lauren and Sarah played attacking badminton by moving very fast in all areas and they managed to finish off the second set with a reasonable 21-18 score on the board.
The top seeded Scottish shuttlers won the Women’s Doubles final battle in straight sets with a convincing margin of 21-12 and 21-18.
