Set to take place around this december BJ "the prodigy" Penn will get a shot at the UFC welterweight title when he fights the current champ George "rush" St-Pierre. GSP did beat Penn earlier but by a split decision much to Penn's dissapointment. Both have improved there game since the last fight and most fans say Penn but I find it tough to call..

  1. GSP! GSP! GSP! That's for sure!

All times I've seen BJ Penn fight, I saw him very defensive, comparison of Georges, who always looks to attack and finish his opponent...

ST-Pierre is currently one of the most athletic and explosive guys in the UFC, and I think it would win that match.

  2. I gotta go with GSP.  I like both fighters.  But while there skill level is probably very close GSP is just gonna be so much heavier.  He is a hugh welterweight, and i think his power is gonna be to much for Penn to handle...

  3. I disagree with all of your posters so far.

In my mind BJ Penn is P4P the best fighter in all of MMA.

The only knock anyone can reasonably have against BJ is his conditioning. BUT....since the Pulver fight, we have seen a completely rededicated BJ Penn. Since that fight, his conditioning has been phenomenal.

BJ Penn outclasses GSP in both stand up and BJJ. Granted GSP does have better wrestling skills than BJ, but this is one of those be careful what you wish for things. BJ on the ground is ridiculously good.

Also, BJ is looking to avenge a past loss. GSP should be afraid. Very afraid.

Having said all of that, I sincerely believe we are about to witness perhaps the greatest fight in MMA history.

  6. I am going to go with GSP. It should be a great fight! Here's my breakdown. GSP is in much better shape than Penn, even when Penn is actually in shape, which he isn't consistently. But I think Penn is tougher mentally. I've noticed that GSP can become distracted mentally and lose to guys that he should beat. But GSP seems to come back mentally stronger in his rematches. With this in mind, I think that GSP will be in better shape than Penn, and after not winning convincingly over Penn, I think GSP will be determined and will win this one.
