The internet has been abuzz as Rockstar confirm that one game is making good progress and that the other is very likely to happen. They really know how to tease.
One publisher that has a knack for releasing games that are both brilliant and guaranteed to have controversy follow in their wake is Rockstar.
The publisher has been behind the legendary GTA (Grand Theft Auto) series as well as other titles such as Bully and Red Dead Redemption. Each game has not only been immensely popular amongst the gaming community but has been caught up in some kind of controversy
as well.
One series for which the controversy part is especially true is Grand Theft Auto, which has been targeted incessantly by the media.
It turns out that they will have plenty more to moan, groan, complain and be outraged about as Rockstar have confirmed that they are well into the development process of the fifth part of the series.
A representative stated, “Right now, we are very hard at work on the game and are excited as well to show and tell you more as development progresses.”
He continued by explaining that fans could expect more news sooner rather than later when he said, “expect that we’ll be talking much more about GTAV starting at some point in a few months’ time.”
One can expect the internet to come alive with comments when that does happen.
While the GTA series have always been about being the criminal, L.A. Noire was about being the complete opposite, a detective.
It seems that Rockstar are keen to offer a balance when it comes to either being a criminal or fighting crime, in the game world of course, as it stated that it could bring a sequel to L.A. Noire in the future.
Stating that the studio was not working on any new downloadable content for the game, it hinted at a sequel, “While there won’t be any more DLC or additional content for the current release of L.A. Noire (we’re all too busy working on Max Payne 3, GTAV and
other games to come), don’t count out the possibility of a new game in the L.A. Noire franchise in the future.”
However, he also said that they “simply have not decided anything” in relation to the game and also that Rocksteady “don’t always rush to make sequels”, thus putting to rest any premature excitement for the title.
The studio quoted examples of the Max Payne series and Red Dead Redemption to show what he meant with a sequel to the latter not even mentioned by the publisher since the original’s release.
All in all, the next few months should be interesting for gamers and many will have a keen eye on Rockstar and any announcements they make.
