GTI vs. SRT-4. Which one is better?

I have a 2005 SRT-4, with 37,000 miles on it. I work at a dealership, and someone might be trading in an VW GTI.... Looks really nice from here, but don't know much about it yet, cause the deal hasn't been closed.

I remember my husband had told me he had debated between getting me the SRT-4 or the GTI, and settled for the SRT cause someone had bought the other one, leaving him with little choice.

Should I call him and let him know about this new opportunity, or do I have the better car already?

I am biased to German marques, therefore GTi.  The original hot hatch.

The build quality and "fit and finish" of the GTI will be better, and the handling might be slightly better. But, as I's sure you know, the SRT-4 still has excellent handling and is definitely faster than the GTI. Personally I think the GTI looks a LOT better, but that's just me.

When the SRT-4s were new, they were considered a performance bargain, and the GTI is your typical overpriced German car. If I were you, I'd stick with what you've already got.
