i have a gibson epoch and it is $hit. the epoch has no tone, it cant palm mute at all

so my question is: is the starcaster by fender also horrible? (if not i may get one) , i have a digitech distortion pedal, but please compare the 2 guitars and give your feed back

i have played guitar for about 2 years now i can play:

smells like teen spitit-nirvana

don't look back in anger-oasis

welcome home-coheed and cambria

knocking on heavens door-gnr version

alive-pearl jam

talk dirty to me-poison

...and many more like those

i am only naming these songs to show you my skill level so the question will be easier to answer

thanks

  1. To be honest, the Fender starcaster won't be much of an improvement. Since you play a lot of rock and alternative, I would recommend getting a guitar with humbucker pickups, so it can better handle distortion without feedback. Since the starcaster goes for about 200$, I would recommend getting a guitar that is not in a pack, just a guitar. Buy the amp separately. Make sure you go to a store and try them out though. Also, if you can invest money into a new amp, your tone will improve. I recommend getting a Roland Microcube amp. Great tone and versatility.

  2. starcaster (:
