I had a c-section March 21st 2008, and I can't get rid of my tummy!!! I am dieting and I have lost 12lbs, none of which seems to be coming off of my tummy! Why does it seem that women who have c-sections can't get rid of their guts? Will I ever get rid of this thing!??

  1. Both my sisters still have theirs I think it's impossible to lose

  2. The reason is partially because they have to cut through muscle to get to your uterus.  Now of course it can be worse for each woman depending on which way you were cut.  I have had three vaginal deliveries and I can;t get rid of the gut either!

Plus...it's only been 6 months...give yourself time!  But congrats on losing 12lbs...and your baby of course :D

  3. heres some info here

  4. thats not a problem just associated with csection mommies, its an ALL mommy problem. :(  lol   the thing is that much of the flab is not actually fat, its skin. you can't really target any area to lose fat exclusively, cardio is the best way to blast fat. as far as tightening the skin you should try Avon's lift and tuck, it works wonders...its like magic, i couldn't even believe the results i saw!

  5. That's not just a c-section, that's *most* women who go threw pregnancy.

  6. IM NOT SURE, MY DAUGHTER IS GETTING CLOSE TO THREE AND I HAVEN'T LOST MINE YET... I HOPE TO HAVE A TUMMY TUCK AFTER MY SECOND.

LET ME KNOW IF YOU FIND OUT... HAHA*

  7. The reason is your abdominal muscles were stretched during the pregnancy. You need to focus on toning those muscles so you can lose that pregnancy pooch.

That being said, I know what I need to do but have no will power and hate ab exercises, so I still have mine.

My trainer/sister, lost hers within 6 months.

  8. I agree with trin for the win. My bff gave birth to her baby about a year ago and she still hasn't lost her tummy. My mother-in-law hasn't either and shes been a mom for like 20 somethin years

  9. I've had 2 c-sections and you're not alone with the ''pouch'' but as long as it took that weight to get on, expect it to take that long to come off.

The muscles were severed and they will never get back to the way you were pre-surgery (one of the reprecussions of c-sec) but you can work on it with sucking in your tummy as you walk, tighten your belly when exercising and do situps.

I still no matter how ruthless I am with my exercise regime still have this ''sag'' right in the area of the scar and I'm 3 years recovered!

  10. lol i have the same problem ava was born c-section on march 14 and i still can't get rid of my gut ether. i asked my doc about it and she said it is because of all the scare tissue in there it will slowly go away.

  11. That's happens to most all women who have babies, the reason is because while pregnant for nine months your muscless are being stretched and so is the skin.
