Why don't you just say that you don't know if you want to be a cheerleader or play volleyball because you're not sure if some boy thinks one or the other is stupid and you want him to like you.

Listen, Do what YOU enjoy. If you like volleyball and play it and he thinks it's stupid and he doesn't like you, then find a guy that likes that you play volleyball. better yet, do both. Play volleyball in the fall and cheer for the basketball team in the winter. Many girl's do that.

Quit acting desperate though because no matter what you chose to do, guys will always think desperation is unattractive.

Fact of the matter is, if you choose what he likes, maybe he'll go out with you, then dump you when you have too much practice and then you'll be stuck doing something that you don't really enjoy. Live your life for you, not someone else.
