GW Bush and oil?

Since GW is a lame duck, do you think he should just sign executive orders to drill and build refineries, nuke plants, and the works. To get prices down and start getting us off oil from the Arabs???

  1. No.

There are better ways to get us off middle east and Venezuelan oil dependence.

In the very near future, the cost of solar will drop dramatically. There are new, safer forms of nuclear energy, IE: Nuclear batteries coming online. Car companies are already transitioning to electric vehicles

If anything, bringing the price of oil down would slow its replacement with cleaner tech. Expensive oil is good for the oil industry, but even better for the alternative energy industry. And if you factor in the cost of maintaining control of oil resources (wars), alternative energy is already cheaper.

The best thing GW can do right now is get out of the way.

  2. yeah, that would be a great idea! since we're in a recession

at the moment, lowering gas prices would stimulate the economy. Since we wouldn't be spending all of our money on gas, we would be able to spend it on whatever we prefer, thus stimulating the economy and helping bring our country out of the recession. Im not saying that lowering gas prices will completely solve the recession, but it will definitely help.

  3. What, and stop the gravy train for himself and his friends?  Are you kidding?  Why would he do that?  That would be something that would actually be FOR THE PEOPLE.  I haven't seen him do anything like that.  Why should he start now?

  4. yeah but we are going to run out of those types of fuel soon anyways.

i think he should spen money on finding alternative energy sources to fuel all of our needs.

  5. No, lets use up all the gas the Arabs have and then they have nothing.

  6. No. He is an oil man, his pals are making a killing off these prices..

He went to Iraq to steal the oil, and did, now why would he pass on the savings to YOU
