With Falcao in top form, and Gabi practicing his trophy-picking stance, it seems like Atletico are ready for their UEFA Supercup match against Chelsea.
With Atletico’s match against Chelsea on the 31st of August, the heat is on. Not being a member of the team in 2010 when Antonio Lopez Guerrero led Atletico to win the UEFA Super Cup, Gabi is eager to have the same opportunity.
“Every football player wants to compete for trophies,” said Atletico Madrid captain, Gabriel Fernandez Arenas.
He further added, “When you end up somewhere else, you miss the club a whole lot more and you dwell on what you could have done differently to avoid leaving it.”
While under the employment of Real Zaragoza, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gabriel-c14281 had progressed as a team player, and learned the ropes on how to be a team leader.
However, despite doing very well for himself in Zaragoza, Gabi yearned to come back to Atletico.
He stated that he wanted to play as many games as possible and become a key and respected player at the club.
When asked about http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707, Gabi stated “I’ve got a lot of time for him, because we went through a lot together, and because he’s an Atletico great. He’s already come out and said that it’ll be the most memorable game of his career, but hopefully things
won’t go his way.”
He also insinuated that although http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 is a bigger team, with the respect that Atletico have been getting all over Europe, there is no need to be too worried.
Moreover, they have Falcao who, in the eyes of Gabi, is "the best finisher in the world”.
Gabi may not be too far off with that comment about Falcao. With 35 goals in his debut Spanish season, of which 12 helped Atletico obtain their second UEFA Europa League title in three years, Falcao could very well find himself at that spot.
Scoring two out of the three goals scored by his team in their last match against Athletic Bilbao, Falcao is on a role.
All in all, we see that it’s going to be very interesting to see how http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gabi-c14252 leads his team against Chelsea, and whether his trophy-picking practices pay off.
