Gabrial and Lucayan will also try their luck in the St. James's Palace Stakes
With the Group 1 St. James's Palace Stakes just around the corner, the racing enthusiasts have another reason to be excited, as the Richard Fahey trained, Gabrial and Francois Rohaut’s charge, Lucayan, have been supplemented into the mile long race
on 19th June, 2012 at Royal Ascot.
With these two entries, the number of horses competing in the 1 mile race is 22 so far.
Owner Dr. Marwan Koukash is optimistic about Gabrial’s performance, and is hoping that despite his young age, he can bolt through the track.
The three-year-old’s recent victory at Haydock was encouraging, when he defeated the Clive Cox trained, Lucky Henry, by 1 ¾ lengths in the Betfred Silver Bowl Handicap in May, 2012.
The owner commented:
"Today I parted with £25,000 (to supplement) and hopefully he will take his chance on Tuesday. He's still a baby, he still thinks it's a game, but we still believe he is a Group One horse.
"I wanted him to take his chance and hopefully with better quality horses around him he will learn more and hopefully run a good race. I don't think ground is an issue, as long as it's not extremes."
Lucayan, owned by A. Mouknass, is currently on a hat-trick, and will try his best to claim a victory.

The bay colt dominated at Longchamp, when he succeeded in the Group 1 Poule D'Essai Des Poulains and defeated, the B. De Montzey trained, Veneto.
Trainer Aidan O’Brien is hoping that one of his six entries succeeds in bagging the victory in this prestigious event, as he has entered Power, Daddy Long Legs, Vault, Reply, Requisition, and Wrote.
Power, son of Oasis Dream, out of mare Frappe, is the one to watch out for since he recently landed a big victory in the Group 1 Abu Dhabi Irish 2,000 Guineas, where he defeated Bryan Smart’s charge, Foxtrot Romeo, by a small margin of 1 length.
Maybe this time, Foxtrot Romeo, will be able to make up for his performance in the Irish Guineas and close in on Power to down the victory, as he is also one of the confirmed entries.
