Gabrial tipped to win Boodles Diamond Eternity Handicap
Gabrial is expected to dominate proceedings in the Boodles Diamond Eternity Handicap at Chester in England on Thursday, May 10, 2012. A cash prize of £14,177 has been set for the winner of the class-2 event.
The going will be soft in the 7 furlong 122 yard race, which is scheduled to start at 15:05 GMT. A total of seven runners will be seen in action and their names are as follows: Gabrial, Evervescent, Seanie, Glen Moss, Arnold Lane, Boris Grigoriev and Switzerland.
The organisers had named nine entries for the race, but Masterel and Anaconda are doubtful for the race. Both were quality runners and could have given a tough time to their opponents.
However, the absence of the above two participants means that Gabrial has a solid chance of winning the race. This is why the bookies have awarded him with pretty decent odds and the bettors are also likely to risk the maximum number of bets in his favour.
The three-year-old colt has taken part in four events, winning a couple of them. He has the potential to fight for victories consistently, but will need a special effort in order to prevail at Chester today.
The last couple of events did not yield a very good result for the Richard Fahey’s trainee, as he finished 20th and seventh respectively in them. He started off his career with a bang, winning his first two races, but the form has dipped recently.
Gabrial will be partnered by Jamie Spencer, who has performed extremely well in his career until now. He has got a very good strike rate, thus the punters might risk some money in his favour.
On the other hand, Glen Moss will also be the one to watch out for in the race. He has taken part in five races until now, winning one of them and finishing runner up on four occasions. This goes onto show the kind of form he is in at the moment. He just
needs a little bit more luck in order to win more consistently.
Other than the top two favourites Evervescent and Seanie might also attract some bets in their favour today.
