Gabriel Agbonlahor pulls out of England squad that will face Spain
Aston Villa forward and England international, Gabriel Agbonlahor has officially been withdrawn for the England squad. As a result, the player will now not be in line to feature for the national side as they take on Spain and then http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sweden-c3015, due to an injury
that he picked up.
At the moment, it is quite unclear as to just what is wrong with the player, but based on what is being revealed, the striker apparently went on to tweak his hamstring and instead of risking suffering a serious injury, he has opted to head back to the Villa
medical staff, to get his injury assessed and looked after.
Despite the player pulling out of the team, it has still not been revealed if the squad is going to face a very last minute addition, since things are happening a little too quickly.
An official statement, which was released by the FA is quoted to have said: "http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gabriel-Agbonlahor-c14288 has this morning returned to Aston Villa"
"Having been assessed by the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 medical staff, Agbonlahor is unable to train today at Wembley and has returned to his club."
Things seemed to be going rather well for the young English striker, prior to his last minute injury. He was called up for the national team for the first time since 2009 and given how he was performing for Villa, it was believed that he was going to make
a convincing statement regarding his future as an England international. However, it now seems like the player will have to wait for another opportunity to be handed to him.
No names are being taken at the moment, but the way things are developing, it wouldn’t be very surprising to see Arsenal’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Oxlade-Chamberlain be given a very last minute call up to the senior squad. The player has already been impressing for the Under
21’s and he is now due a call up any day.
Given the circumstances, that call up could happen as early as tomorrow, as the player could find himself sitting on the bench, as England take on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 in a friendly on Saturday.
