Gabriel Bracero ready to take on returning Jermaine White in a non-title bout – Boxing News
Gabriel Bracero, the former NABF light welterweight champion, will enter the ring to skim the effect of last career loss off his resume by taking on returning American pugilist Jermaine White, the current USA Indiana State welterweight champion, in an eight-round
bout which will be held on June 14, 2012.
The duo will meet on the fight card organised and promoted by Lou DiBella of DiBella Entertainment. The ring for the showdown will be set up at Roseland Ballroom situated in New York, United States and will be headlined by the non-title 10-round bout between
Sean Monaghan and Romaro Johnson.
The night will be co-headlined by another non-title 10-round bout between Thomas Dulorme and Alberto Herrera. Gabriel, 31, is looking forward to make an impressive comeback on the win track and in a recent media interaction denoted his last loss as ‘a blessing
in disguise’.
The Puerto Rican Bracero has been in a total 19 bouts and boasts 18 wins. The orthodox brawler was on a win streak before his last bout with DeMarcus Corley. Gabriel, for the very first time in his career, took on a man with a pretty hefty experience and
therefore was unable to counter the veteran’s game plan.
Gabriel not only received his very first career loss but also lost his NABF light welterweight gold in the very first title defence bout. It was this reason why Bracero was a bit depressed at the set back but later on held himself up and converted the loss
into a motivating factor.
Also known as ‘Tito’, Bracero stated, “I am excited to be here and excited to be getting back in the ring and moving forward with my career.  The loss in my last fight was more of a blessing than anything else.  It has made me more focused.  I have been
training harder now, and I am in the best shape of my life, way better than I was before. I look forward to putting on an amazing performance for everyone on June 14.”
Gabriel’s Thursday night opponent, White, is in a bit difficult situation as he is making a comeback after the time lapse of almost 32 months. Also known as ‘Too Sweet’ or ‘Hawk’, Jermaine left the ring after collecting a unanimous decision loss in his last
bout against Paul Spadafora.
Since then White has remained outside the ring and is now eyeballing a winning comeback. As far as the stats are concerned, Jermaine has an upper edge as he has a bit height as well as decent knockout advantage in his gear.
The only facet that might hamper White’s performance is the fact that he will take some time in the ring as he has become rusty. If Gabriel capitalises this facet he might grab a clean victory in the very initial rounds.
