Gabriel Obertan targets starting place for Manchester United
Manchester United winger Gabriel Obertan intends to retain his starting place in Sir Alex Ferguson's team after scoring his first goal for the club against Bursaspor on Tuesday, 2 November.
With 73 minutes gone in the Champions League encounter, the Frenchman received the ball on the edge of the Turkish team's penalty box, took two touches to steady himself and sent an unstoppable shot high into the net.
The 21-year-old said he was proud to have scored after the game, and that he will aim to play a part when United take on Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on Saturday, 5 November.
"It is going to be difficult to keep my place in the team, but I am going to work hard and not have any regret if I don't make the squad at the weekend," Obertan, who joined United from Bordeaux last summer, told the club's official website. "But that is
what I am working for and I hope the coach picks me."

The game against Bursaspor was Obertan's second starting appearance this season, the other having come against Wolverhampton in the Carling Cup on 26 October.
Happy to see Tiago Bebe improve
Portuguese winger Tiago Bebe, another of United's youngsters, also got his first start of the season against Wolverhampton. In Tuesday's game, Bebe came off the bench to add United's third goal to Obertan's delight.
"It is really good for Bebe to score again. He is new. I came last year so I know how difficult it can be. I am really happy that he scored. We have a good group of players. There are 25 players, even if nine of them are out we can still do a job."
United are currently third in the Premier League with 20 points from ten games. They trail Arsenal on goal difference.
