Gabriele Del Torchio says that they are re-organising their racing department – MotoGP news
Gabriele Del Torchio, president of Ducati, unveiled that they are working on the re-organization of racing department of Ducati along with their friends from Audi.
He said that they will take advantage of Audi’s technology, especially their electronics and simulator models.
Torchio told Gazzetta dello Sport, “We'll take advantage of their technology, especially electronics and simulator models.”
He said that they have chosen Andrea Dovizioso because he has the attributes which are in their favour. He added that he is a fine tester and knows a lot about bikes. Besides, he said that he is a fighter as shown by his five podiums in the current 2012
season.
“We have chosen Andrea because he has demonstrated the characteristics that we think could be useful: a fine tester, he has deep knowledge of bikes and is a fighter, as demonstrated by his five podiums this year,” he said.
Furthermore, he said that the young rider has a future ahead of him. He added that Dovizioso is a careful and sensible person. Besides, he said that he will help them in their improvement path that they want to continue with.
The team president further said that two years ago they had great expectations and they believed that they could only improve but this did not happen.
He added that their motto is never to give up and keep trying to fix their problematic areas. He said that they need to get back on their development path as their fans deserve better results. He added that they can still build the real good Ducati bikes.
Talking about the Valentino Rossi’s decision of moving to Yamaha, Torchio said that there is a bit of anger over the issue that they were unable to satisfy the desires of the riders. He added that Rossi was unable to understand the characteristics of their
bike.
Moreover, he added that after the strange crash of Rossi at Laguna Seca, the Italian rider decided that he wants immediate results as he is getting aged therefore they decided to leave each other in a good way.
Moreover, he said that he is confident that Ducati will make its way back to top as they deserve it.
The fans are waiting to see Ducati back among top riders but they will have to wait for the next 2013 season to see Dovizioso riding with Ducati.
