Gabriele Detti wins Men’s 400m freestyle title: Day one: 2012 Sette Colli Meet, Italy

Gabriele Detti of Italy seized gold medal of the Men’s 400m freestyle on first day of the 2012 Sette Colli Meet in Rome, Italy on Thursday, June 14.
Detti served notice of his talent and clinched another gold medal of the evening for his country. He stayed comfortably ahead of his opponents from the start and dominated his way towards the finishing for the title of the event.
With his relentless efforts, he remained almost two body lengths ahead of his following swimmer and tapped the finishing end for gold medal with the timing of 3 minutes and 49.27 seconds.
His gold winning effort remained almost 2.50 seconds faster from his following swimmer and team-member, Andrea Mitchell D’Arrigo, who stepped on the medal rostrum for silver medal by producing a time of 3 minutes and 51.72 seconds.
The second position holder was trailed by Oussama Mellouli of Tunisia, who suffered a deficit of just 0.01 seconds from his foregoing finisher and settled on the finishing end as third position holder by producing a time of 3 minutes and 51.73 seconds.
The bronze medallist was chased by Mads Glaesner of Denmark, who stayed 0.15 seconds apart and transpired on the finishing wall for fourth position by clocking an effort of 3 minutes and 51.88 seconds.
Fifth position of the discipline was secured by Sebastien Rouault of France, who was nearly half body length behind and surfaced on the finishing blockade with the timing of 3 minutes and 52.35 seconds.
Similarly, Rouault was trailed by Samuel Pizzetti of Italy, who was almost two seconds behind and submitted a time of 3 minutes and 54.67 seconds for sixth position.
Pizzetti was chased by Devon Brown of South Africa, who remained 0.21 seconds apart and emerged on the finishing wall for seventh position with the timing of 3 minutes and 54.88 seconds.
Eighth position of the event was secured by Gregorio Paltrinieri of Italy, reported an effort of 3 minutes and 55.97 seconds.
Furthermore, Detti was contented with his effort and claimed that he will try to excel at the forthcoming 2012 London Olympic Games.
