Gadobout Dancer to strike for the second time at Beverley through the Brian And Jason Merrington Memorial Amateur Riders’ Handicap
The Class 6 Brian And Jason Merrington Memorial Amateur Riders’ Handicap has attracted seventeen three-year-old and above runners who will contest for the £1,560 prize money. The race will be held over a mile, a furlong and 207 yards on Tuesday, 25th September.
In the entire line-up, there are just two entries who have emerged successful out of their last outing, Gadobout Dancer and Praxios.
The 11 to 1 entry, Gadobout Dancer, is under the super vision of trainer, Tony Coyle, and was successful in his last try at Beverley race course.
The five-year-old bay mare won the Stars Of The Future Apprentice Handicap on 1st September, 2012 at Beverley race course over a mile and two furlongs.
She chased the leaders, and by the time half the distance was dealt with, the tenth stall had to track down the single leader. She established a lead when there were still more than two furlongs to go.
The leadership was short lived as it was invaded by the closing in opponent, Highlife Dancer. Keeping up with the courage while riding with jockey, Kevin Lundie, the duo raced through the wire while leading by just half-length.
Coming at terms with the third position was, Cosmic Moon.
It was after an entire unsuccessful 2011 campaign, and a good more than half of the current one that the bay mare finally nailed a race.
Today she will race from the ninth gate, and will get paired up with jockey, Miss. H. Dukes.
She will have to confront the four-year-old bay gelding, Praxios, who is backed by 12 to 1 odds along with victory in the last race that he took part in.
The Noel Wilson trained won the Stars Of The Future Racing Excellence Apprentice Training Series Classified Stakes on 19th September, 2012 at Beverley race course over a mile and half a furlong.
The mount of jockey, Conor Harrison, defeated Kheskianto, by the margin of just half-length.
He will be guided by jockey, Miss. K. Bannon today, and the two will race from the sixteenth gate.
The most favoured entry, Tiger Webb, can swing back into form, and squeeze in the chances of the rest of the line-up.
