Gael Clichy admits that it was hard to leave Arsenal for Manchester City – Premier League Update
Manchester City defender, Gael Clichy has gone on to admit that one of the toughest decisions of his life was to part ways with Arsenal, to join City.
The twenty five year old French international had gone on to make two hundred and sixty four appearances for the Gunners, in the eight seasons that he spent with the team. Clichy was also part of the invincible squad, which won the world over and showed everyone just what the Gunners were capable off.
However, none of that seemed to matter, as Clichy went on to complete a seven million pound switch to the Eastlands earlier this week.
Nonetheless, in his parting words to the team, the full-back has gone on to show much respect to the team and to Arsene Wenger. Clichy even went on to admit that had it not been for Wenger, he would not have been even half as good as he is today.
When talking about http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 and his departure, Clichy is quoted to have said: "Leaving Arsenal was a really big thing for me"

"Arsene Wenger helped me grow up as a person and player.

"He taught me everything - how to be a footballer, how to be a man.

"And saying goodbye was very emotional, very difficult because I have been there so long."

"I had a lot of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Friends-football-club-c39381 there and in London - but sometimes you have to do what you have to do.”
The defender then went onto admit that the time for change was upon him and there was very little that he could do to change that fact.
Clichy then ended by stating: "And I felt the need to make a change and in the end that was it, that was the key.”
"But in life I believe it's all about timing and this is the perfect timing for me to make the change."
Clichy’s departure from the Emirates could potentially mark the downfall of the Gunners and the rise of City. Arsenal are now without a stable http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Defence-c38904 and really need to start spending big in the transfer window. On the other hand, City’s squad is now more complete than it has ever been.
This coming season is going to prove to be a http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Real-c30728 test for both the Gunners and City. Arsenal are now going to have to show that they can adapt themselves to massive changes, while City are going to have show just what they are capable off, with one of the most star studded squads in the world.
