Gael Kakuta signs new Chelsea contract till 2015
AC Milan had almost expected welcoming Gael Kakuta, trying to put up an open deal to convince the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 Under-21 midfielder to turn his back on his present club, Chelsea. But news of a new 5-year deal being inked might have changed
all that.
The 19-year old signed a new deal to stay at Stamford Bridge when he only had 6 months left on his contract. The new deal will have him on board until 2015. There had been doubts about his future with the team as the West London
club looked to cut the wage bill.
Bayern Munich was also one of the clubs along with AC Milan to express interest in the player but luckily for Chelsea, the services of the 19-year old Frenchman were further extended by this newly signed five year contract renewal.
After joining Chelsea in July 2007, Kakuta made his senior debut in November 2009. Kakuta had his presence in five of the UEFA Champions League group wins and the one game he did miss out on was against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 that
Chelsea lost 1-0. Through this defeat, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 secured a Round of 16 match with FC Kobenhavn on the 22nd of February and the 16th of March, 2011.
There were several disputes, as Kakuta joined Chelsea under controversial circumstances as he was banned for four months by FIFA and incidentally, so was Chelsea from signing any new players until January 2011 under the 'tapping
up' dispute. This was brought about by Kakuta breaching his contract with his former club Lens, to join up with the Blues. However, Chelsea was cleared of the wrongdoing by the Court of Arbitration in February.
Internationally, Kakuta played in the French team that won them the UEFA European Under-19 Championship last summer. The game was held on home soil when France beat http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011. Kakuta is yet to score a goal in his first five games for
Chelsea so far but is keen to help the Blue’s attempt to reach glory once again when they have currently dropped to fourth place in the Premier League Tables.
The Frenchman was happy about his new deal and while talking to Chelsea's official website, said: "Since I signed for Chelsea when I was 16 all I was thinking about was to get to the first team. Now I have been playing a few times
with the first team and I have signed for four and a half more years I have to make a way for myself into the starting XI, and make my dream come true.”
Kakuta continued: “It is a dream when you are young to play in the Champions League and I hope I will play more games. It is always good to play with players with more experience, you learn quicker and to improve quicker is good
for our development.”
After the loss of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Deco-c10735 over the summer for Chelsea, Kakuta was deployed a total of nine times by Carlo Ancelotti this season.
In the top of the line for Chelsea, Kakuta, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jeffrey-Bruma-c18265 and Josh McEachran hold high marks as the future of the club and the Lille-born is certainly glad to have signed a new deal with the team.
Another teenager in Chelsea’s squad comes from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Feyenoord-c39258, the 15-year old defender Nathan Ake. This indeed has cause quite a stir as Feyenoord are reportedly unhappy with Chelsea, as they plan to sign their star sometime this February,
when he turns 16.
