  2. As for books etc., all you really need is a pen & a copybook to write stuff on but I'd also bring an Irish-English dictionary.

  3. camera, county jersey bcos most gaeltachts hav a county wher u dress up in ur jersey and county colours, a good few bras and thongs bcos the lads sometimes need 2 borrow them (no joke lol), ipod, a few sweets, face paints come in handy, lots of makeup, clothes, i would bring at least €200 with u, a copybook, pens, a fancy dress costum (if u hav 1) bcos there is usually a fancy dress ceili, straightener, curling iron, hair dryer, loads of towels, bikini, shampoos conditioner, , lots and lots of tan.

im going 2 an irish college in galway 4 my 4th yr...cant wait!

    u'll hav a great time

    :D

  4. The main things you need would be No.1 clothes, and bring clothes for all weathers make sure you have a rain coat, umbrella and then sunny clothes, bring a few pairs of bottoms and a good lot of tops as in most places you only get your washing done every 2-3days, and then a few pairs of shoes. There are also numerous discos and ceili's in which most people sort of get dressed up for.

Make sure you have your own toiletries- toothpaste,facecloth/wash,shower gel, shampoo and any other basic essentials. You should also bring your own towels as most do not provide you with them. Also a hairdryer/straightners althought they prefer if you do not bring straightners of curling irons, if needed or if you are within a group of friends a couple of you could decide on bringing 1 so everyone doesnt need to and then the usual girls essentials, makeup etc if worn.

I usually bring a few magazines, ipod, mobile etc to use while in the house, although if you are not good with keeping your things and tend to loose them do not bring your valuable possesions like an ipod but if you want to make sure you have a bag/case to lock them away in so no-one will take them

You also need a book and pen for school.

You usually get a form that informs you on the prefered amount you bring, i usually bring about €200 although it said 150-180, you mainly spend your money in the local shops/garage and maybe go shopping on one of the days.

That is all i can currently think of so spraoi a dhéanamh agus ádh mór ort! x

  5. Bring plenty of clothes, only not too much,

    tracksuits,

    casual wear,

    swimming togs,

    towels,

something nice if you go disco,

    runners + comfey nice shoes.

Random toiletries, shampoo shower gel, make up the like etc etc.

something for the grueling 5 hour bus journey, magazine, mp3 player + food.

Lunch money for stopping off at Monaghan.

I brought £100 when I went 7 years ago, now I was still fairly broke, so I'd say you shud bring at least €200, it should cover random shop visits and trips to Letterkenny and tours the like.

Try to ration to only spend a certain amount a week.

Pen + copy, you might not need an Irish English dictionary depending on how strict the school is but bring one anyway.

    And bring a camera!!

    Have fun!!

  6. Bring LOADS of extra clothes!! especially socks, knowing the irish weather!  bring funny clothes too because there'll be loads of themed discos etc... and you'll be changing your clothes atleast twice a day!

Bring the normal stuff-pjs,makeup,face wash,TOOTHBRUSH(I forgot mine!) Deodrant etc.. because it's horrible to have to share anything..

If your home-sick,you could bring a pillowcase from home maybe..

Plenty of footwear-flats,one pair of heels if you like, and i'd say two pairs of runners.

and...not sure if you're allowed but mp3's + speakers are a really good idea because you could be bored back at the house!

    Have Fun!!

  7. Get yourself some travel wash, so that you can rinse out your clothes quickly, and also bring some clothes pegs so that you can hang them out to dry.

Bring things that can be washed and dried easily, cotton t-shirts, shirts, tops, skirts, trousers, trackies, and maybe one or two pairs of jeans and a hoodie cardigan or similar as it does get colder in the evenings. Think layers. Make sure you bring plenty of socks, underwear, and good shoes for walking. And a rain jacket - it rains a lot in Donegal.

As for money, set up an account in the post office, and bring about 100 Euro in cash. If you run out (it's likely you will), ask your parents to lodge money in the post office account at their local post office, and then you can just withdraw what you need at your end. Make sure your parents have the account number. Don't bring too much cash with you.
