  1. idr cus my son had 1 of the same questions

  2. 2.5 pounds

  3. 16.5 divided by 3 times 2 take that do 16.5 minus what you got that is how much is left

  4. 33/2 pounds * 1/3 =      33/6 =  5.5 pounds.

  5. Change 16 1/2 to 33/2, multiply it by 1/3 (because 1/3 is left), and you get 11/2 or 5 1/2.  (Check - 5 1/2 times 3 is 16 1/2)

  6. 16.5 lbs divided by 3 = 5.5 lbs. If Gail used 2/3 of 16.5 lbs. 5.5 X 2 = 11 lbs. 16.5 - 11 = 5.5 lbs. of grass seed left.

  7. 5 1/2 pounds.

    16 1/2 = 33 half pounds.  Then its clear than 1/3 would be 11 half pounds = 5 1/2 pounds.

    I'm sure there's a better formula though.

Are you really homeschooling?  Don't they have options or training for subjets you are not good with?

  8. 15 and 5/6 of a pound. or 95/6 pounds

  9. 16.5-(2/3)=15.833333333 OR 95/6

  10. 5.5 lbs

  11. 5 1/2 lbs is left

    divide 3 into 16 1/2 and then you get 5 1/2

  12. 5 1\2

  13. 15 ,5/6

  14. 16 1/2 x 2/3

    33/2 x 2/3

    11/2 x 2

    11 used, 5.5 left

    hope that helps :D

  15. well first you work out home much is left as a fraction which would be 1/3. then you times 1/3 by 16 1/2 and the answer is 5.49 which is rounded up to 5.5. then you take 5.5 away from 16.5 which will give you 11 lbs. so gail had 11 lbs of grass seed left!!

    hope i helped

(it may no be right because im Australian and we dont use pounds :])

    xx

  16. 16 1/2 lbs of grass seed = 16.5 and 2/3 is used so u multiply

2/3 x 16.5 and subtract the answer from 16.5 to get 5.5 lbs remaining.

  17. 1/3 is left

  18. Let's analyze this in even-fractions:

    16 1/2 pounds*2= 33 pounds. RIGHT?

Simply divide this numerator of 33 by the denominator, 3 we end up with 11 pounds used.

Since she STARTED with 16 1/2 pounds, subtract this 11 from the 16 1/2 as MY formula ends up with 5 1/2 pounds.

WHALAH!  - 5 1/2 Pounds is the answer.

  19. 16½ pounds = 33/2 pounds.

Two-thirds of this is 22 pounds.

    One third remains -- 11/2 pounds or ♦5½ pounds♦
