Gaining muscle? Help!!! Am I gaining muscle, weight in general?

I had not worked out in several months. I ate ate and ate, I ate a lot food between that time. My appetite increased ten-fold, however, when I stepped on the scale I did not gain any weight, was it the scale I used? THIS IS WHY I AM SKEPTICAL: WHEN I DO PUSHUPS, I FEEL LIKE IT IS VERY HARD TO DO TEN! I FEEL HEAVY,LIKE I AM LIFTING MORE OF MYSELF OR SOMETHING.. before I could do them like they were nothing...I felt very light! Male seventeen yrs

  1. It's possible that you lost some muscle and you gained fat in its place.

    FYI: Scales that you buy at target, bed bath&beyond, etc. are usually not exactly accurate.


  2. no heres what happened: u lost ur muscle mass and it was replaced by fat mass, therefore not only do u not have as much muscle as u did before, you also are heavier from the extra fat, the scale hasn't changed much because the muscle has been dissappearing at the same rate that the fat is replacing it..... in other words, get back in the gym!
