  1. yes, it's called mass.    everything has weight.

the food you ate has  weight, mass.   of course you'll put on weight.

but  most of it's lost in the morning after you sleep.

why not weigh yourself in the morning then at night...   see how much you gain during the day.. then weigh in again the next morning and see what your average losses are during the night.

average losses depending on how much fluid is consumed is 5 to 7lbs.

  2. Well obviously eating large quantities of food will add weight to your body, but this doesnt count as actually weight gain. After you digest your food and your stomach shrinks back down to its normal size, you will not carry around that extra weight. I however dont know anyone who can put away 5 pounds of food though... Maybe in an eating contest lol.

  3. Maybe, but you haven't actually gained that weight as far as "stored fat" goes.  Your weight can fluctuate throughout the day.  It's unlikely that you ate three to five pounds of food in a meal.  So it was probably water retention, the food, and daily fluctuations.

Don't be concerned with how much you weigh after eating, and that you need to lose that.  Gaining weight needs to be thought about in a span of  about a week.  So, one big meal isn't going to make you immediately gain weight.  You work some of that off, and the surplus stays.  But you might work it off later.

  4. No, while you may feel like you've just gained 3-5 ponds after eating a huge meal, it is not possible.  And even if it could happen, digesting it would not cause the weight to "disappear"
