I have been going to Weight Watchers for the past 3 weeks. The first week I lost 600 grams, the second week I really stuck to it and I gained 400 grams and this week I stuck to it most days but I admit I had a few extras and I gained 600 grams. I am almost ready to give up. I want to persevere and lose the weight but I am starting to think it is all just too hard. I am really watching and writing down all I eat this week and being on track, and I want to go next week but I am terrified I have gained weight again. I don't want to look like a fool who can't lose weight. i am starting to think it is not worth it. I have 30 kgs to lose and I am obese. I am also taking medication in which weight gain is a side effect. This is no excuse but I do have to try extra hard to lose it.

  1. eat what u eat, but in smaller portions..i tent to put the same amount on my plate as my partner. thinking... i dont want to waste it. but if you just eat more of the veg rather than the meat is my moto...or id end up bigger than i am...btw im 11stone.

  2. try the pen and paper diet since you don't have to keep buying other products and you still get to eat the types of food you like and lose weight.  it's been published in a metric edition.  it's basically a personal daily calorie budget.

  3. It takes time! As a WW myself, I know it can be tough to really get into the habits of WW, but remember that WW is a lifestyle change, not just a diet.

Remember that WW is a support group where meetings are to boost your confidence and ability-- it's not a shame game! If you are embarrassed about meetings, try doing WW online-- you have to be a bit more responsible since you are only accountable for yourself, but your weigh-ins are private and the message boards are really helpful.

You can do it! You can! You are not a fool, it takes time to learn a new lifestyle. I lost 20lbs this summer with WW and I had a few slips myself. The trick is getting to know what foods are good for you and you can eat a lot of, and, learning to chose your splurge foods.

  4. dont ever give up maybe weight watchers isnt for you try something different

  5. try putting your fork down

  6. Being a former WW myself I understand that sometimes its tough.

I would gain weight on the weeks I was being really really good and then one week without every trying I lost 1.5 kgs. Crazy I know.

Well what you need to do is go to the meeting a speak to the leader for some one on one support and she can review what you are eating and how things can change to help you, and you can tell her about your new medications.

Also see your GP and ask them if they can help you in some way.

The first few weeks of the program are tough, once you start getting really into it you shop different and you learn so much so quickly.

You should really take a friend with you for extra support, and they may lose weight too.

You will get there, you are worth it. It can be hard, but when I was looking super trim over my first skinny summer I felt great, and men would look me up and down.

  7. My dear, your saver is Paul McKenna. I recommend you buy his book, "I Can Make You Thin". It will change your life forever.

Here are the 4 major key-strategies of Paul McKenna:

    (1) When you're hungry, EAT. (Don't ever starve yourself)

    (2) Eat what you WANT, not what you think you should.

    (3) Enjoy every mouthful, chew your food slowly & thoroughly, savour its taste!

    (4) When you're full, STOP!

    Directly quoted from Paul McKenna.

Listen to the wisdom of your body, love your body, it's yours...

    Good Luck :)
