Gaining weight...in the right places?

Okay. So I have a problem. I am pretty darn thin, and I don't like it. I'm 5'0" and am now down to 98 lbs. I would like to gain about 2 or 3 lbs. But here's the catch, I don't want the weight going to my stomach. Because then I'll have a nasty stomach, and tiny thighs and shins. If I start eating more, but do about 100-200 sit ups per day, will the weight forget my stomach/ab area and go to my legs instead? Or will the weight just not be gained?

  1. you'll put on weight by eating more, and without exercises that weight will just turn into fat. and being a woman, that fat will be stored in your hips and thighs and butt. i recommend doing some exercise and resistance training, typically you want to add 5 pounds of muscle not fat. with an increased level of exercise, your appetite will also increase. if you do nothing but sit ups, all that will happen is you will build muscle on your stomach.

do some full body work outs with dumbells or an exercise ball or swimming, running, cycling etc. make sure you get plenty of protein and vegetables/fruit

    good luck

  2. you can't really control where the weight accumulates.  But if you're underweight, typically the weight will be added everywhere as you gain.  If you're exercising, and keeping toned an such, you're probably not going to notice a huge difference in how your stomach looks... especially if you're only gaining 2 or 3 pounds.

  3. u only want to gain 2 or 3 pounds? whats the point?
